About the Teacher

Welcome to Kindergarten! I’m so excited to be part of Swallow School and feel incredibly fortunate to teach here. Kindergarten is a special year. Over the course of the year, you will see your child grow and learn in so many ways. I am thrilled to be a part of that experience.  I love teaching because of the joy and inspiration the children bring to the classroom. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else!

A little bit about myself: I grew up in Oregon, WI just outside of Madison. After high school, I attended Edgewood College where I majored in Early Childhood regular and special education K-3rd and minored in English as a second language and Spanish. I currently attend Concordia University Wisconsin for my master's degree in literacy and plan to graduate in May. I recently received my Reading Teacher license.

Previously, I have taught kindergarten and 2nd grade in Portage and Hartland. In the summer of 2011 my husband Ben and I got married. Ben is an engineer in Waukesha. We recently bought our first house in Hartland where we live with our two cats.

I have a strong focus on literacy skills and strive to stay professionally current with the most effective teaching methods. I encourage your involvement in your child’s kindergarten experience.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  I can’t wait for the adventures this year will bring!
